Enjoying Healthier Food On The Go

I travel constantly for work, which hasn't been great for my waistline. After eating in all of the best restaurants in the world for a few years, I realized that I had gained around 30 pounds. Fortunately, I was able to work with a health coach who taught me some valuable skills for my way of life. She taught me how to recognize unhealthy foods and swap them out for better options--even in foreign hotels. The results were incredible. I was able to lose weight while enjoying my travel adventures. My blog is for anyone out there who wants to enjoy healthier food on the go.

Solving Common Problems In Your Pizza Delivery Restaurant

by Margie Harris

Delivering pizza is a great way to increase your restaurant's reach and revenue. There is almost always a demand for pizza, you can make it in many varieties, and the profit margins are relatively high — especially with delivery. But sometimes, pizza delivery restaurants run into some challenges with their approach or protocol. These challenges are not hard to address, but you do need to know how to address them. Take a look.

Pizzas are arriving cold.

Are you getting customer complaints that the pizza is arriving cold? First, try gathering some data on those complaints. Are they all coming from the same general area, or in other words, the outskirts of your delivery zone? If so, you need to make changes to keep pizza hotter for longer. Look for some insulated transport bags you can put your pizza in during transport. Or, if you already have insulated delivery bags, consider upgrading to better ones. Also, make sure your pizza is leaving the restaurant ASAP after prep. If it is not, then you need to examine your system for getting the pizza from the oven to the driver. The pizza should be leaving the building immediately once it is boxed.

Customers are waiting too long for pizzas.

When you have a customer order a pizza, you should be able to give them an estimate of how long it will take to arrive. You want to be pretty close to this estimate as often as possible. So what if your pizzas are taking too long to arrive? Then, you may need to make one of the following changes:

  • Decrease your delivery radius. Perhaps it is not possible to get pizzas as far as you'd like within a reasonable time.
  • Give your customers longer time estimates.
  • Make sure drivers are leaving with pizzas as soon as they are boxed.

You're having trouble keeping drivers.

Delivering pizzas is a rather demanding job, and sometimes it can be hard to keep drivers for more than a few months. If you're cycling through drivers too quickly, here are a few ways to try increasing retention.

  • Pay an extra stipend for vehicle wear and tear.
  • Provide uniforms for them to wear so they don't ruin their own clothes.
  • Encourage tipping by using a payment app that requests tips. Make sure your drivers get all of their tips.

With the troubleshooting ideas above, you can continue to run your pizza restaurant successfully. For more information, contact a company like Italian Fiesta Pizzeria.
